Geometry

My class has been doing geometry for our math. My favourite activity was Tangram World. In Tangram world you had to draw the shapes that were on the sheet, cut them out and make things out of them. I made a cat. My least favourite activity was Changing Shapes. It was the same as Tangram World, (I liked that) but I did not understand why the fish had two tails or that the house had two roofs but that was the only thing. I learned that geometry can be fun to work with for six days.

Juicy

Teah and I made an invention to keep a juicy frozen for 1 and a half hours. Our was the best looking and the BEST at melting the juicy. Our juicy turned into total slush. I liked it because I got to eat mine in the end. Our invention was made out of 2 ice cream containers, black computer stuff, pillow fluff and ice water balloons. It didn’t look too snazzy so we put our initials which are A and T on it.

Weather

My class was learning about weather for our T-shaped literacy. I learned how tornadoes form and how to make one in a bottle. I made an animation about the different seasons. My animation is sort of funny and if you can find it when the guy puts the rubbish in the bin, the bin is covered in snow.

Right Place

My class made a slide about being in the right place at the right time. We took screen shots of the right places and wrote about them.

Time

My class, Te Maunga has been learning about time for 2 weeks. Most of the stuff I already new like that there is 60 seconds in a minute, 60 minutes in an hour, the big hand on the clock is the minute hand and the small hand is the hour hand. One of the things I didn’t know is that there are 365 days in a year or that there are 52 weeks in a year and I tried to figure out how many seconds there are in a season.

Project Energize

My class, Te Maunga, went to project energize with Gina. Gina is my mom's cousins cousin so we are related and my mum plays her in netball. We learned about the 4 food groups which are the meat and meat alternative, grains, dairy and fruit and vegetables. I learned that fat chips are better than thin chips because they absorb less fat. I also learned that fizzy drinks are full of sugar and water
and milk are the best options.

cross country

On Friday we had cross country in Bledisloe. I think I came 7th. I am not too sure. I enjoyed running around, making holes in the ground with my foot and buying food from a few tables on the deck. We practiced by running five laps around the school. We practiced three days a week, normally on Wednesday, Thursday and Tuesdays. Every day for training we had to beat our time and get better and better.
