The small, dotted insect hovered gently in the misty air before landing. She could feel the softness of the small, white feather that was gracefully floating on the surface of a pretty little koi pond with beautiful clear water. She looked down and rested her wings as she could see all the little spotted, grey pebbles. As the small red ladybird looked a little bit to the left she could see a graceful Shubunkin fish as it’s tail waved in the water. The Shubunkin quickly swam the other direction once it saw the faded shadow of the tiny white feather.

An Unidentified Creature Of Shadows

This is the first 100 word story I’ve done. It’s based off of an image from Youtube. (their chanel is called “Benny Productions” link to video)

This story is about a horrifying experience I will never forget… one day I was experimenting on some essence from an unknown species with my friend in a dark, gloomy science lab. Then it happened, my friend Jerry accidentally spilled some highly flammable acid on the tall creature. The acid sunk through the tender, spongy skin on the creature's right tentacle closest to its right arm. The creature screamed in terror as it broke out of it’s glass cell. In shock it had plunged one of its hands directly through Jerry’s chest before rushing out with blood following it’s trail...

Te Reo Maori Weather Report

 Last week my friend Ana and I finally finished our weather report. In it we were learning to create a DLO but we could only use the Maori language. We had to put arrows pointing to the places, the names and emoji things to show the weather. It was easy to put the slides together and read the script but I don’t know why it took longer than it should have to finish. Have you ever done a Maori news report for school?

The Best Fun I’ve Ever Had Playing T-Ball

 This week all the year sixes in our class got to go and play T-Ball. All you have to do as a batter is hit the ball off the Tee and then run to base one, then two, then three and back to home base after every hit from other players in your team. If you are a fielder the aim is to get the ball once it’s been hit and then throw it to a person on to a base so they can get the batter out before they get to whatever base they’re running to. I had a lot of fun playing T-ball and I wish we got a chance to play it more at school. Have you ever played T-ball?

Beautiful Mahi Toi

 This week (After about 7-6 weeks) I finally finished my calendar art. My class was practicing blending, continuous lines and using your shoulder to draw instead of our wrist. I had to go over it with colouring pencils 2 or 3 times to make it look like I put a bit of effort into colouring it in (and the outline). Are you good at blending??

ATHLETIC!!

 This term my school (and a few others) will be participating in athletics. This event is normaly held at Bledisloe park in Haruru. I really like athletics because it’s just a fun thing students around northland get to do at the end of the school year and laughing over my fails at doing high jump. At athletics we do things like high jump, long jump, sprints, shot put and discus. Are you athletic??

The Worst School Holiday I’ve Had In Years

 In the past 2 weeks off of school I had to go to Avril Court (my Mums work/a motel) with Mama every day (besides the weekends) for at least 3 - 5 hours. Otherwise I had 1 sleepover with my friend Mahana and 2 play dates with my friend Teah but we did nothing but go on our computers and jump on trampolines. Basically I had a bad term 3 holiday. Did you enjoy the holidays??

Castle Construction

 This week for maths half of my class got to do castle construction. We were learning to measure length and area and construct a  castle. We had a guide sheet of paper so that we would know how long or short things had to be. Only 3 groups got to finish it but it was still fun. (my group got it finished). Do you like constructing structures?

Musical Melody 2

On Sunday I made some more music on Chrome Music Lab. I like this piece of music better because it sounds more like music and less like boring repeated beats in my opinion. At first I was just clicking random boxes and I expected it to sound terrible but it’s not bad. Do you play any instruments?

Musical Melody

 This week my class has been learning how to make music online. We have been using this app called Chrome Music Lab. I had a lot of fun experimenting with different notes and beats. I didn’t actually do it at school, I waited till after school to make this piece of music that I love to listen to when I’m playing my favourite game. I hope you can have fun playing around with this, although it won’t change the link so that’s good. Do you like music?

Te Reo Maori W9

 This week my class is learning a little more Te reo maori. Some of us aren’t the best at pronouncing some of the words. So we got one of those big books that you would normally read when you were 5 or 6 and we all got to learn off of one of those. Next week I think we will be doing a weather report (fake) all in maori. It’s gonna be fun. I’ve done a weather report before when I was only 8. If you scroll down far enough it might be there. Have you ever recorded a weather report in maori before?

The Amazing Parachute For Our Bottle Rocket.

 This week my group (for the Wonder Project) made a parachute for our bottle rocket so it doesn’t go straight to the ground after  its launched. The parachute will help the rocket fall to the earth slower. After our photo was taken we drew a rose on the front with vivid. Do you think that the parachute will help our design?

 So I found some symbols you can use bye holding down the “ALT” key and clicking other keys. Let’s just hope that I’m not the only one that didn’t know. Did you know about these symbols?

The Best Art I Have EVER Done!!

Last week my class did mosaic art. This was some of the best art I have ever done. I have done mosaic art before but this one that I’m posting about is the better one in my opinion. I’m glad that I got to finish the head, I think that was the hardest part of the macaw. I am pretty good at the rest of the body. Have you done mosaic art before?

Te Reo Maori

Last week my class was practicing our te reo maori because some of us were not the best at pronouncing our maori words. I was one of them. Our teacher had this big book that you would normally see when you where little and went through all the words with us. We also had groups with 2 or 3 people in them to practice the words together. We have been doing this every day for about a week now and I’m now much more confident with te reo maori. Does your class do maori practice?    

Hardcore Fitness

This week my class has been doing fitness to get fit for cross country. Half the class would go outside onto the field or the court and then the other half would stay inside doing work and we would rotate after about 20 minutes. We had to do crab walks, mountain climbers, high knees (after 10 high knees we had to do 2 push ups) I think push ups, squat jumps, and if we had time we play a game. I think I could work on my crab walks I’m not the best at those because I keep falling over and bumping into Gail, (Gail is a friend of mine.) g I’m good at the other things, although I get kinda tired after about one or to minutes of fitness. Do you do fitness at your school? 

Dashing Fast 5 Netball

On Tuesday our class played fast five netball. This was a game that we had played before so most of us knew how to play. It is very unlike me to like a sport such as this but apparently the teachers caught me smiling so that was a bonus. I’m not really that sure why I liked playing fast five netball but  I did for some reason. I didn’t actually get to throw the ball or hold it, I kinda just walked around following the group. Maybe next time could try to catch the ball. Have you played fast five netball before?

Gingery Math Eyes

This week my class used our math eyes to see math in a photo of 12 gingerbread men. I have created a DLO to show my learning. It was kind of hard trying to find some math in the photo probably because we had just got out of lockdown and I was not that used to work yet so ya. I did not find it very easy. As I was looking I saw that some of there buttons were different colours and their hats were different sizes and there shoes are different sizes then the other shoes. Do you have math eyes?
